We’re participating in the pet blogger challenge!

Pet Blogger Challenge Jan. 10Every year, Go Pet Friendly hosts a pet blogger challenge where they pose a bunch of questions and we (the bloggers) answer them. This year, even though our blog is a bit of a newbie on the scene, we thought we’d participate—and give you a little insight into what the EzyDog blog is up to and how we run things around here.

Without further ado, then, our answers to the pet blogger challenge questions:

1. When did you begin your blog?

We published our first official post on October 23, 2012—so we’re definitely the new blog in town!

2. What was your original purpose for starting a blog?

We love the outdoors, travel, dogs, and people who love dogs. And we wanted to provide a resource for people who also love dogs, travel, and the outdoors. So this is where we’ll share our tips, tricks, and tools for training, travel, and adventures with your fuzziest family members.

3. Is your current purpose the same?

Yep!

4. How often do you post?

We’re still getting our groove and working out the details, but I’d expect to see one or two posts from us per week—at least to start.

5. Do you blog on a schedule or as the spirit moves you?

Right now we’re working on an editorial calendar so that you can count on us to have new content up on a schedule…but it’s still in the works and, of course, if there’s inspiration we might toss in an extra post from time to time.

6. How much time do you spend writing your blogs per week? How much time visiting other blogs? Share your tips for staying on top of it all.

Each blog post takes about an hour to write and then a little more time to upload and add photos to. How much time we spend visiting other blogs varies greatly from month to month. No tips for getting it all done yet, but hopefully next year we’ll have a few under our belts.

7. How do you measure the success of a post and of your blog in general?

This blog is about helping people, being a useful resource…so the thing we’d most like to see? People sharing our stuff! Anytime we get incoming links, social media shares, or word of mouth, we consider that a big win. And, of course, huge bonus if more people buy our dog adventure gear.

8. If you could ask the pet blogging community for help with one issue you’re having with your blog, what would it be?

We’d love to do more guest posts! If you have any tips or tricks for guest posting…or if you would like us to guest post on your blog, please let us know! We’ve got lots to say on the topics of dog travel, training, adventures, and gear and we’d love to contribute around the web.

9. What goals do you have for your blog in 2013?

We’d like to do more guest posting, become a real resource for dog lovers, and become a part of the dog blogging community. (We love so many of your blogs already…if you are a dog blogger, please drop us a comment and say hello. We’d love to know more of you.)

Thanks to Go Pet Friendly for putting this together! Happy new year, all!
